Monica Bhide
I really need to find some fresh rhubarb ( I know it is out of season) or frozen rhubarb, asap. I am doing some recipe testing and cannot find it anywhere. I have looked in Vienna in Whole Foods, Trader Joes and Giant. Do you know of any place that is selling it or if there is a good online resource I can tap into? Thanks much..

Walrus
Does online work for you? Rhubarb ROCKS! We used to grow it in our back yard in Michigan, and my dad my the world's best rhubarb crisp each summer. They are a wholesaler but they might be willing to help you if you pick up. Try calling them. They are in Springfield,Va.

JPW
Avoided this till now becuase I didn't want to send you over the river and through the woods, but now that you've struck out a few places, I swear that I've seen rhubarb in the freezer case of Snider's in Silver Spring. Jane
Has anyone in DC found rhubarb yet? I haven't seen it at the Dupont Farmers market or P Street Whole Foods. Having company tomorrow night and would love to be able to serve something bright and zingy for dessert...but maybe we're still too early?
goodeats
I have not seen it yet this season, but have seen frozen rhubarb somewhere recently (maybe Mom's?) that you might be able to use?
lperry
Super H in Fairfax had amazing looking rhubarb the last two times I was in. $4.99 a pound, I think, and labeled "Rhubarb Chard." Unknown provenance, but maybe OK in a rhubarb emergency?
leleboo
The thread on rhubarb in the Farms and Farmer's Markets forum may give an idea of when it usually starts appearing (although this year's terribly cold spring probably has it delayed).
