    I agree. Best cake doughnut I have ever had by a long shot. I love the samoas, have found the salted caramel a touch too salty, like both the glazed and chocolate glazed quite a bit. The glazed however cannot hold a candle to Knakal's in Culpeper- Deanne and I both consider their glazed the best we have ever had. (and at half the price of SS)

    It's not early for corn, particularly with the hot May and June we had. There has been local corn at my market (Spotsylvania) for 3 weeks now. While I have no first hand knowledge of the markets north of Dale City I am sure there will be corn, tomatoes, and melons available at most of them by now. I haven't seen an nectarines thus far but the early peaches have arrived so they may be around as well.

    My significant other grew up near the original location in Pt. Pleasant, NJ so I have had Jersey Mike's quite a few times. I definitely prefer it to the other chains, the ICC is my go to as well. Subs from the original tended to be sloppier than from the franchises- not always a bad thing.

    Patrick has an infant at home and he and his family have purchased a house in Virginia- he will be working again shortly at a spot closer to home. No ill will in this departure which is nice as Patrick/Table were some of the first to be receptive to my entry into the DC restaurant market. On another note- Table is continuing their family meals this Thursday evening at 5 and have invited one of their vendors (me) to attend.

    How much does the quality of the wine affect the quality of the vinegar produced? What type of wine do you prefer? (Please keep in mind that i know almost zippo about wine.)

    I disagree. Golden State is one of the best sets of shooters to ever step on the court together and their depth is such that former all stars such as Iguodala and Lee were coming off the bench (or not playing at all) until the finals where the Cavalier's lack of depth made small ball the most viable option. They are WAY better than the Mavericks team that beat Lebron his first year in Miami (imo the worst team ever to win a title) or the Pistons teams with Billups and Hamilton. By the end Cleveland was down to Lebron and a bunch of relative stiffs but they were still way better than the Iverson Philly team. Lebron and 4 random guys off the street would be as good as that team. I admittedly did not read the linked article yet but the guys who know (in Vegas) have Cleveland as the favorite next year with Oklahoma City sharing second billing with Golden State. Golden State is unlikely to ever be as healthy as they were this year and one injury is all it takes. The Wizards are 11th at 30-1. i believe that is underselling them a bit.

    I can see calling Brando's performance overrated but not the film as a whole. In my mind the first two Godfather films are arguably the high point of American cinema to date.

    i would add Lillard and Griffin off the top of my head, Chris Paul too maybe. Carmelo and Wade as well- they came in the same year as Lebron. i agree that Porter is going to be solid. Gortat is fine too when he is engaged mentally- his defense and rebounding seem to suffer when his offense isn't there though. I think it's time to give Seraphin some major playing time and see if he can live up to the glimpses we see once in a while. At least his errors are of commission rather than omission. I also thought Dejuan Blair would see playing time this year but he was invisible. Humphries is limited but gives consistent effort. I would rather see any of them play than Nene who rarely strikes me as actually giving his all.

    I place no blame on Nene for the end of game 5- that was an instance where the ball just bounced the wrong way. In general the Wizards perimeter defense has been one of the strong points of the team as well. Wall and Beal might be the best pair of guards in the league defensively. In game 7 it seemed they just stuck with something that wasn't working which let Teague and Schroter have the drive off of the pick and roll pretty much at will. Some more athletic big men would help a lot (or having consistent effort from their one athletic big). As far as Okafor- his offensive game is much more advanced than Davis was when he came out. At Duke he was pretty much the only post player in a 4 guard lineup a lot of the time. He will be able to score in the NBA from the get go- his defense and rebounding are of course nowhere near Davis and never will be. No one else in the league is near Davis in those regards either though, except perhaps Dwight Howard on the rare occasions he has a fire under his behind. They are all indeed projects when they leave college as boys and move into a league of grown men.

    Pierce is great offensively in the clutch but he "can't guard a chair" (to quote Scottie Pippen on Toni Kukoc) anymore. I can go either way on his return. Nene on the other hand is one of the biggest wastes of physical talent in the whole league. I have never seen another player with similar physique who is as soft. The Wizards big men were horrible guarding the pick and roll last night.

    I had grand aspirations for starting this thread with some sort of comprehensive guide to micros, their traits, and their usage. I have come to realize that plan will simply never come to fruition so here we go anyway... I have been growing microgreens commercially for almost fifteen years at this point and will be happy to answer any questions folks may have or to attempt to identify anything you may have a picture of. Red mustard ready to be cut- this is one of the spiciest micros we grow.

    Neither one is projected to go before 50th or so in the draft at this point. They would have gone higher last year.

    I told a friend before the ACC tourney that I was picking Duke to win it all and Tyus Jones being the most clutch player I saw all year was the reason. Time to bask in the glory of that prediction and forget all the other incorrect ones.

    It has been an excellent tournament in general. Far and away my favorite sporting event year after year.

    After watching all of Kentucky's tournament games (and several of their regular season ones) I believe their undefeated season to be as much a function of the SEC being terrible as anything else. No way that team goes unbeaten througn the ACC, Big 10, Big 12 or Pac 12. Their half court offense is basically non-existent and they lack the quickness to defend teams with 5 guys who can all handle the ball and shoot. If all your guys can score and you have a lot of ball movement the secondary defenders blocking shots (Kentucky's most spectacular strength) goes right out the window. Duke would have beaten them if Wisconsin did not. Unfortunate for the Wildcats the way things shook down with Notre Dame, Wisconsin and Duke probably being the 3 teams in the whole shebang most equipped to beat them. I also agree that UK probably spread the playing time too much. Stars win big games.

    I had driven by dozens of times and never stopped as some of my inlaws live right down the street. Finally went in yesterday and could not believe the amount of food for the price. We had the grilled pork as well as the veggie and the total was less than $9. Veggie was a little on the dry side but no complaints otherwise. I agree 110% on the prepared foods to go- love it.

    Walton before the injuries is the only one whose versatility compares to Akeem. That, of course, was short lived.

    No idea on the pomegranate but asparagus and the fig are most likely late due to the extended winter. My figs are just now showing signs of life and my asparagus is not up yet.

    Okafor is going to be a big star at the next level- his footwork is as good as any post player I've seen since Olajuwon.

    I can do that but probably will take a week or so to get around to it. More on topic- there are also garlic chives in addition to chives. They are also called Chinese leeks and taste of (shocker) garlic. They can easily be differentiated from "regular" chives because the tops are flat rather than round.
