  3. Dean Smith was one of my greatest childhood idols. Another of them was my brother Bruce. Today I drink to both of them.
  4. 2 of my favorite Fredericksburg restaurants are Choi's Korean and South Vietnam House- both are located on the same road as Peter Chang's one strip down. Once Spring arrives McCoys Barbecue sets up on weekends on Rt 3 a mile or so west of 95. The smoked mac and cheese is great.

  6. Sounds to me like the main potential drawback is the same as with a CSA- sometimes you may get stuff you either don't like or aren't in the mood for. (I am assuming there is no choice on your part in what is delivered.)
  7. The song you asked about is "Morning Mr Magpie" from the album "King of Limbs" (2011). We have had tickets to see Radiohead 3 times and thus far seen a total of 2 songs due to various misadventures. I liked them better pre-"Kid A" when they were still a rock band though.
  8. Even if the book is 100% drivel (I will be shocked if this is the case) Ms. Parkinson is wrong as wrong can be. "Some Like it Hot"??? "When Harry Met Sally"??? It's good that the book was found while Harper Lee is still with us. She does seem like one of the good folks.

  13. I love this place. They serve some of the best ice cream I have ever had. It's made on the premises using milk from the owner's farm less than 5 miles away. Located at the intersection of 29 and 28, it's about an hour to get there from my farm or from DC proper. They also sell milk from the farm in old fashioned glass bottles as well as a small variety of sandwiches which I have yet to sample. My gf loves the lemon sorbet and my personal fave thus far is the "Moundz" ice cream- coconut with chocolate chips as you would expect. Parking is a bit limited and service does tend to be slow, particularly on weekend evenings when the weather is warm. I get a little chafed over it but the irritation goes away quickly when the ice cream hits the mouth. My family were dairy farmers for years and years so I have extra appreciation for the Moo Thru allowing the Smith family to endure in an increasingly difficult environment for dairy farming.

  15. Never been impressed when I've eaten at In-n Out Burger. The one we went to in Vegas flat out sucked, the ones we went to in California were a bit better but nothing special. Roy's Big Burger in Richmond does a much better job of basically the same thing.

  19. Good Morning, My name is John and I am the owner of Glenburnie Farm Produce Co.. We grow chemical free produce in Spotsylvania County, VA on land which has been farmed by my family since prior to the Civil War. Our specialty is microgreens but we also grow a wide variety of herbs and specialty produce. We sell to restaurants in DC, Alexandria, and Fredericksburg as well as at Farmer's Markets in Dale City and Spotsylvania. Until recently our DC restaurant business had been done through a distributor (The FreshLink) but they have closed their doors so we are now dealing directly with restaurants in the "big city". I grew up on the farm swearing I would never be a farmer as an adult and have a degree in English Literature which has never seen significant use. Hopefully I will be able to contribute to the forum in a meaningful fashion. If anyone has questions regarding the agricultural end of the food chain please do not hesitate to ask.
