  1. Can anyone recommend a good Shiraz around $20 that is available at a wine store around town? Thanks
  2. The upstairs of Matisse in Tenleytown is a nice location for such an event. I am having my rehearsal dinner there in a few months.
  3. Bezu is now open. I have only been able to stop by to have a couple drinks at the bar a few times. The bartender has been very friendly and it seems like a welcome addition to the neighborhood. However, from just glancing at the menu, seems a bit out of my price range to become a regular dining destination for me. Nonetheless, I look forward to getting a chance to taste the food at some point in the near future.
  4. Town Hall has always been a good option for me in that area. I'd recommend getting a bacon, avocado cheeseburger....mmm
  5. After watching a couple horror movies, nothing hits the spot like the delicious sweetbreads at Ray's the Classics.... Whatever is in that mustard sauce is simply incredible. I might have found my new go-to appetizer selection....but it's a close battle with the figs.
  6. Dropped in tonight for several PBRs and some outstanding pizza. The space is pretty cool, and at around 6pm had several rugrats playings ping-pong. My friend and I had to censor our language during a heated game of ping-pong as we waited for our order, but that was fun. Very relaxed atmosphere, which helped since we had a slightly long wait for our food. The servers and staff were all very friendly and apologetic for the wait we had, but once we bit into the pies all ill will (however slight) was soon forgotten. I had an anchovie pizza and my friend had a smoked mozerella, pepperoni, and onion pizza. Both were out of this world outstanding! The crust had a perfect balance between burnt/crispy/chewy and we relished every bite. I will definately be back and only wish it were open earlier on weekend afternoons for some pies, pong, and PBR.
  7. Went to the Dancing Crab a few nights ago and was very pleasantly surprised. At around 5:30 there was a crowd of around 20 people who all seemed in high spirits and to at least loosely know each other. The bartender was exceptionally friendly and quick to pour some relatively cheap drinks. I will definately be back. Does anyone know how crowded it gets on weekend nights?
  8. The picture of the two Michaels that accompanies the review is hysterical? Clearly someone with some good wit needs to come up with some captions for it.
  9. Root Beer Float- Ray's the Classics
  10. In addition to the food buzz after a meal at Ray's, the feeling I get from bringing "virgins" there and getting to vicariously have the first time experience is almost as good. On Friday night I brought 2 friends from New York into RTS and they couldnt stop talking about it afterwards. The consistantly impecible and generous food, service, and treatment never fails to impress/amaze.
  11. I recently finally made it to 2 Amy's....the pizza definately lived up to all the hype. The crust was perfect and the toppings weren't over the top! The only complaint was the total price. One pizza, 2 glasses of wine, and 2 appetizers came out to way more than we thought. But that was definately our fault. Can't wait to get back for more since they just ruined all other pizza in the area for me...
  12. Why do I always leave Ray's with the feeling of "Wow, that chicken/veal/pork chop/etc just revolutionized my perceived notions how good it can be! Why haven't I ordered that before?" Saturday night, it was the chicken. It was bar none the most flavorful chicken I have ever had (and perfectly moist). If only it was sold in buckets so I could bring it home to enjoy while watching football.....
