  1. August and Herbsaint though the latter doesn't have a formal tasting menu; they were more than happy to help us out crafting one [reckon I should add that we are known there]. Can't go wrong at either but I would recommend hitting all spectrums ranges and price points that y'all can; it's a pretty special place Doesn't commander's palace have a tasting menu?

  8. Winchester If you ever want to make your life truly miserable, go to One Block West and get the Lamb Terrine and curse your damn luck that A: the restaurant is in Winchester, B: you live in DC and C: neither you nor your wife has a car.

  10. A lazy afternoon at City Park (snacks from Cochon Butcher encouraged) remains one of my favorite ways to spend an afternoon. The art museum and botanical gardens are nice versions and, my personal favorite, the historic train garden must be seen to be believed .
  11. Not necessarily in the right neighborhood but Johnny's Half Shell has great views of the Capitol from both the edge of the patio and the booths up front in the bar area
  12. Next door to us at Cashion's: Taan (currently and seems like they will survive the curse of 1817 Columbia Rd.), Marrakesh Lounge, Mudbugz, Marrakesh Lounge again, Evolve (greatly missed), Cafe Sofia, Pharoah's (because sometimes you just gotta have some Ancient Egpytian culture to go with your blues), now I'm getting confused, Rocky's might be next
  13. Has anyone else noticed the snack-irony in the Old Bay stands selling the Utz (non Old Bay) brand of crab chips? I think Herr's has the official Old-Bay potato chip, but either way, one would think they would want sell their own product, no?
  14. Agreed; this is place has always been LEGIT and has always had me secretly yearning to be Italian as opposed to Polish and being taken to Ostrowski's by the fam
