  1. I think the Warriors win in 6. Kyrie looked great but Cleveland needs to play better on offense. Squandered an incredible opportunity with Steph and Klay having off shooting nights. Less hero ball more passing/easy buckets. Unfortunately Lebron runs the show and when things grind down, we see a lot of people standing watching Lebron. I'm excited that Kevin Love and Kyrie are both healthy for this series but GS is playing great and every championship team needs to go through that moment of "oh shit, we could lose". GS had there's last series, Cleveland won't lose 3 straight if GS slips up again
  2. Would be cool to see all the food critics predictions. Might do it this summer as a little fun exercise to see how many places I can guess right from bib gourmand through 3 stars
  3. Yea I'm trying to keep the lunches to around $13 a day tax and tip included and with relatively quick service. Not that easy, but the pointers are greatly appreciated! Since I just started working out here I've tried going to a new place everyday. Luckily bikeshare is nearby and adds a lot of options. Love the veggie ramen broth at Daikaya loaded with meat+eggs -Wiseguys has been the best cheap/quick option if I have meetings right after lunch -Chinatown Express was solid, if I was craving noodles I'd def come back. Will definitely check out Full Kee -Cava is the best in terms of fast casual. Chipotle, Caltort are tier two -Haven't done Daikaya for lunch yet but hoping it isnt too busy. Went to Toki when I had training over in Noma during lunch and it was surprisingly empty
  4. I just walked by Bantam, still a lot of paper covering the windows. I'll take a few photos when I bike home. Would be kind of surprised if they opened next week, but I did see someone come out of the entrance when I was at a crosswalk Hopefully they open next week!
  5. awesome, work around the block! Had awesome chicken ramen in Tokyo last month. Hopefully something close to that level! Anyone got a favorite lunch spot around Bantam? Trying to develop a nice little rotation for lunch thats walking distance from the office
  6. I highly doubt DC will get a 3 star Michelin restaurant. Judging by the current US 3 star places, I'd assume a tasting menu/chef experience/omakase/etc is almost a prerequisite I think we'll get a few twos and numerous ones Just my two cents
  7. Not sure if this is the right place (apologies if it is) but curious to see what everyone's three favorite restaurants are along this area? My 3 in no particular order 1. Pho 75 2. Cava Mezze (esp Brunch) 3. TNR, go to Fish in Szechuan Broth Honorable mention: El Pollo Rico, Green Pig Bistro
  8. Hi Everyone First post! A little about me, I'm a 28 year old living in Courthouse/Arlington(Typical terrible millennial!), working now for the DC Government. Wasn't really into food but after earning money and realizing a mediocre meal costs X but for a few extra dollars you could get a much better one, I started exploring. I really put it into overdrive about a year and a half ago with a friend who was moving away. We used to do one new restaurant a week, every Wednesday. Started with mostly the Eater 38, even going as far as searching the archives and creating a spreadsheets for older restaurants. I'm making a pilgrimage to Alinea in Chicago in June, might wear my GoPro during the entire meal (kidding). A few of my dining out philosophies 1. I only care about the food, service/decor is a distant 2nd or 3rd. Of course there are exceptions like waiting 1.5 for your meal but I don't let something like asking repeatedly for more water or brusque tone bother me (i.e. some of my friends find the ordering at Pho 75 offputing, to me its just cultural) 2. I don't post on yelp or any other forum(until now), I think complaining on yelp is weak (everyone is a tough guy behind a screen), DC I think does a fantastic job regarding service and in the rare occurrence of an issue most places go above and beyond to rectify the situation. 3. I don't mind spending money on a great meal but also love the lower end as well. I majored in Econ so I'm always trying to find that perfect $ for quality equilibrium. Looking forward to posting and getting to know all of you all
