  1. we ate at Belga Cafe yesterday after walking around the Flea Market and checking out the new digs of the Market. We really enjoyed it and we were even sitting outside (sunny table). What impressed us the most was how hard the chef/owner (I believe) was working at making evey thing right. He was sitting people, hailing cabs, adjustingt tables. That attention to detail really blew us away and made us want to come back and eat inside. Mussels were great- but I thought- and maybe this is just the way my mom made them- a croque monsier was a grilled ham and cheese cooked like french toast- this was just a grilled ham and cheese. Any experts?
  2. If you want tart, light, creamy plain frozen yogurt you have to go to the Lord and Taylor Cafe (top floor L&T, Chevy Chase)and order the plain frozen yogurt (they call it vanilla- ignore that). They used to have it at 40 carrots in Bloomies ( forever ago). You can get it plain, or with walnuts and fruit and some other toppings. The small is plenty satisfying. I have been getting this for over 15 years or so. The recipe or mix is imported from NYC.
  3. the rockville town center has a lot of help needed signs - for both restaurants, eateries, and stores- metro accessible
  4. Oh I second this. Years ago I loves the Georgetown location- funky, good food ( I opened the Rio Grande when it came to town and could not eat there for overexposure), the Austin Bethesda bar was okay- Silver Spring is a disaster. After complaining to the manager about the quality of the food- we got two free coupons- we tried it again, well fool me once- but twice? Mio Rancho by default is do able - but moslty due to eating outside
  5. Home Farm looks great. Any ideas for any place closer in to Washington DC. It does not have to be Korubuta pork- it is pork that taste the way pork did 50 years ago that I am really looking for. Thanks.
  6. My step dad is 82 and from the western prairies of Canada. He has been in America for 50 years. But he still dreams of eating a piece of pork that taste of his youth. Can I make this dream come true this Christmas. Lobels sells Korubuta pork for a reasonable enough price , but the shipping fee is Any ideas out there? Hi I am new to the board but have been lurking forever.
