  1. Last I read they expect this to be a category 3 at landfall late Sunday / early Monday. I can't believe most restaurants would be expecting much (if any) traffic under such conditions to warrant being open.

  5. We have had several enjoyable beer drinking sessions at this place over the years. Messages on their website and social media indicate that they are vacating the premises and looking for a new home. I wish them luck.
  6. He put it all on the line opening his butcher shop a year ago. Then the pandemic hit. By Petula Dvorak, March 8, 2021, on washingtonpost.com.
  7. Lawrence Ferlinghetti, literary citadel of San Francisco, dies at 101, by Emma Brown, February 23, 2021, on washingtonpost.com. Pivotal figure in the Beat movement and subsequent countercultural 1960s San Francisco. Heavy dude.
  8. I was searching for something else and stumbled across the website for Tazza Cafe which looks like it took over the old Campono space. Not sure how long its been there. Maybe if the Kennedy Center reopens and I get a vaccine I'll give it a try. They have the wood oven pizzas. The rest of the menu leans Mediterranean.
  9. Ruthie's All-Day is close with an ample patio in addition to indoor dining.

  13. Watching what is going on at the Capitol I am raiding my liquor cabinet for any available alcohol. 6pm curfew in the District tonight folks. No one outside. No travel by car or other modes of transportation. If you need food or other essentials get it now.

  18. Ruthie's All Day is a new restaurant not far from the cemetery. They are currently open only for dinner but they are working their way to breakfast and lunch as well. You might want to give them a ring and see if they will open for your group. Give them a chance to test out the brunch service. I am sure they would appreciate the business in these difficult times. They also sport a nice sized patio.
