  1. Haha, actually we go to Claremont McKenna College, in Southern California. We're on our school's DC program this semester. As far as age, three of the group (11 total) are of age to imbibe. Thanks for the recommendations so far, and I look forward to hearing anyone else's recommendation. I'll be forwarding this discussion to the rest.
  2. I'm a college student in DC for the semester, and we have some student funds from our school that we can use and have decided to go out for a nice dinner together. Budget is $100 per person. I'm the most into food, and I wanted to try something on the more adventurous side, but I think the rest of the group really wants more of the type of place where you can get a nice big piece of meat cooked very well. Can people help me with some recommendations? I appreciate the help.
  3. The turkey pesto sandwich is meh, the brisket sandwich was pretty good, very tender. The pecan pie, however, was fantastic. Pecan pie too often just becomes an intense sugar flavor, instead of pecan. While sweet, this pie retained a strong nutty flavor. Sometimes, I find pecans alone a bit offsetting (maybe bitter is the word I'm looking for?). The slice had a strong pecan flavor with noting to complain about, a perfect nuttiness. I might even walk over there right now for another slice.
  4. My name is Tom. I hail from Chicago, go to school at Claremont McKenna (at the Eastern edge of LA County) and am spending the spring 2008 on my school's DC semester program. I found this site from a link on lthforum.com, a Chicago food board. I'll be looking for some places where I can get some good food on a college students budget.
