  1. Uhh Heather, I just looked it up and Mother's Day is the 8th. So I'd only be hungover on the 15th

  3. Seeing as how mother's day has taken on a whole new meaning in my house this year, that might not be the best option for me and Mrs JPW and Peanut. Plus a buddy is getting married the day before so I will likely be EXTREMELY hungover. So my vote goes to the 22nd.
  4. Barbara, Read this. All should become clear.
  5. wino, THis thing got a price tag attached to it?
  6. Sum'bitch! Franz outed my favorite cheap white wine. The price had already been sliding up as the dollar slid down, now it's just going to get worse. Wine, April 20
  7. I'll make an exception for you Heather, even if you are a shellfish now.
  8. Then, my dear Barbara ... When the cat's away, the shrimp will play.
  9. One last time... Fish = Good. SHELLfish = bad. I actually use the dry cleaner next door. Yesterday's pick-up of clean clothes didn't reveal any special activity there, but hopefully they'll be open soon. Whole Paycheck has some nice stuff from time to time, but of course it costs.
  10. And very well you should apologize for doing that Rocks! Jill wasn't in when I stopped by, but I was ably assisted and walked out with some great dairy. Unfortunately, I don't get across the river a lot (I was there to do double damage by attending jparrot's tasting at Rick's). Maybe she'll open a kiosk at Ray's Classic!
  11. Just kidding. You can see that Herr Rocks is a "grouper".
  12. First outing was last weekend to Takoma Park. Pretty slim pickin's. The good bread people and Keswick's Creamery are back. Planning on starting my herb garden next week as I saw the hippy herb guy was well stocked (and no, I don't mean THAT kind of herb).
  13. I too caught a glimpse of their PBS show and it was kind of "train-wreckish". More Rachel Ray than Mario Batali.
  14. No I did not forget. They are the opiate of the masses and I refused to have my revolutionary spirit crushed by any of those shelled mud-sucking sea animals. PS - For those who may not know already, I abhor shellfish. They make me gag. I'm sure that Chef Tom's are great, but the fact remains for me that they are still shellfish.
  15. Well, as long as Don is populating this board with classic posts to get us started, I for one will not be satisfied until I see the post that coined the ever-popular phrase "SUCKS VENTWORM NUT".
  16. I'm just thankful that my local grocer, Snider's always has a shopping cart full of Breadline breads just inside the front door. J'adore les baguettes.
  17. Just wanted to get myself going. And what better way, than to sing the praises of my favorite spot. Thanks to Tom and his crew for a mgnificent evening of food and drink for our Rocks roast. That mushroom and crab(?) soup just added to my assertion that Chef Tom has the magic touch when it comes to that course. The steak was out of this world good. Someone mentioned elsewhere that it was in the same league as Ray's, and I agree. Spring rolls, Kit Kat bars and ice cream -- all excellent. But of course the piece de resistance was the company.
