  1. On your way to Union Market this weekend? Drive 10 minutes further out NY Ave. and try a Prince George's County Winery for your Drink Local credentials...Romano Winery from Brandywine, Maryland will be making their third appearance at the Free State's first farmers market featuring local wines--Cheverly Community Market. Those colonials must have known something because we hear other wineries will be opening around the Romanos soon. A drive to the area might give you the hint, rolling sun-kissed hills ringed with old-growth woodlands. I've personally enjoyed bottles of Fallen Leaf and Liberty and look forward to trying the chambourcin, a grape particularly suited to our climate.
  2. Our long-time partner will be handing out samples to Dad and people who have dads this Saturday 8 a.m to noon. Think picnic and you will love their choices...offerings from the Frederick wine trail, including Maryland's only pinot noir....http://cheverlycommunitymarket.blogspot.com.
  3. Get a rare opportunity to taste and buy the offerings of one of Maryland's newest and best small-batch wineries this Saturday, June 1, 2013 from 8-12 noon at this farmers market just off New York Ave./Rt. 50 on your way to the beach . Read http://cheverlycommunitymarket.blogspot.com for details and information about our other growers/producers. Stop by for breakfast and good tunes too...
  4. We opened May 21 and have an every other week schedule until October 22nd. . There's a lot to like about this small-town farmers market, including the relaxing coffee shop atmosphere -- tables under the trees-- and the friendly folks. Open 8-12 on alternate Saturdays. Hop on the bus from the Cheverly Metro, get off at Legion Park and walk 2 blocks to the Community Center, 6401 Forest Rd., Cheverly MD 20785. There is a Thanksgiving and a Holiday Market inside, November 19 and December 10, 2011. It's worth the trip.
