  1. I had dinner here two nights ago. They'd only been open for three days at the time, and though the service sometimes showed some inexperience (it took a while for the food to come out), the food most certainly did not. I don't know if I was in a particularly good mood, or if the restaurant was somehow perfectly suited to my taste, but I thought the food, from entrees to dessert, was excellent. The menu was unusual for an Indian restaurant, no familiar chicken korma or chicken tikka masala that I saw, so we just ordered using the descriptions. Nothing disappointed. Someone in the kitchen seems to really care about flavors and texture, and it showed. And even the dessert, which I usually find uninspiring at Indian restaurants, was absolutely delicious. The bread pudding was amazing. I really hope this place stays around. If you're around Tenleytown, be sure to check it out. It's at 4441 Wisconsin Ave.
  2. Had lunch at Murasaki on Monday, and I'm sad to report that I did not enjoy the experience at all. I had the sushi deluxe and the fish was just not up to par. I don't think I'm all that particular about sushi (I think SushiSushi is perfectly acceptable.) but some of the pieces were downright inedible. Maybe it was an off day for them, and not all of the pieces were bad, but after choking down a bad nagiri, I couldn't stomach another piece. I gave the tuna a sniff and just couldn't do it. They have an extensive picture menu of interesting looking rolls, but in general, I like to go simple, either sashimi or sushi so that I can just taste the fish. In this case, I wish I hadn't. I won't be going back.
