  1. Boo Hoo! I've really been looking forward to that ever since I saw the sign! I remember commenting in London that I thought the Wagamama model would be really popular in DC - it had that kind of familiar vibe. That sucks.
  2. Has anyone ever eaten here? I have someone here jonesing for Puerto Rican food and he wants to know if it's worth the trip out there?
  3. I've often mentioned my dislike for Seitsma <'s columns - don't know the guy >, pretty much since he started, and I haven't warmed to him at all in all that time. If I want social commentary, i'll stick with...oh, never mind. Not worth it. FAIL.
  4. Bacon Sandwiches Speed Up Hangover Recovery http://www.telegraph.co.uk/scienceandtechn...a-hangover.html So do Egg McMuffins, but it's nice to know there is some science behind it, I guess.
  5. I saw this article, and it got me thinking, in this economy, will people try to save money by making things rather than buying? Homemade always seems to cost us more! http://www.slate.com/id/2216611/
  6. Bacon-infused bourbon old fashioned with maple syrup http://www.thestar.com/living/Food/Recipes/article/616968

  10. Email message received yesterday: Dear Valued Guest, The first 10 months in our new location have been very successful thanks to our loyal guests. However, we have come to find that our new neighborhood is not able to support our lunch service. Corduroy will continue to serve dinner Monday through Saturday but will no longer be open for lunch. Thank you for your continued support. Sincerely, Corduroy
  11. Congratulations! I am so happy for you guys! Colleen
  12. Anybody seen this? http://www.ananova.com/news/story/sm_3030316.html I see a picnic theme!
  13. My mother asked me to track this down - her grocery stopped carrying it. If you knew my mother, you'd know never to question her, just obey. To that end, has anyone ever seen this in their local market, specialty store, etc? It's not even that available on line, although I think I might have found one place, but they are out. Thanks All Colleen
  14. It's all about Bacon for Breakfast... http://www.flickr.com/photos/fncll/2129889439/sizes/o/
  15. Here is the link to the lamb prepping pics - warning - not for the squeamish! http://picasaweb.google.com/colleenmcgraw/...key=BQV2aNHXXfI
  16. Hi there, I've had a projectile puker on my hands for years. We tried lots of different things, but I think what's working best, of all things, is a particular commercial cat food - Purina One Sensitive Stomach. She seems to tolerate it really well - the puking is WAY down, and it only seems to happen when she eats a leaf accidentally dropped off of us or the dog. (She loves to chew plants, but always pukes afterward, so we try to keep her away). Also, she rarely ever gets wet food (maybe 4 - 6 times a year as a treat). A vet once told me that they don't really need the wet food, but that it is designed as much to satisfy humans than cats. She also told me that it contributes to the overfeeding of most cats, since dry is more nutritionally dense for the calories. (I hope I'm remembering that right - if not, someone will correct me.) Hope this helps.
  17. agm and I will be on our way in a few minutes...

  20. AGM made the Low Carb-o-nara the other night and it was pretty darn good! Next time (which will be soon!) he said he'd try to steam the onions a tiny bit longer, but it was really good. I'm thinking it would also go kinda good with pig!
  21. I've never tried to bake one, but I think there is buttermilk and vinegar involved.
  22. That is a tragedy. Not because the food was all that great (it wasn't) but because I always loved the funky look of the place. Of course, I haven't eaten there in years, since I don't live near it anymore. I'm getting really tired of the cool local "one-offs" being replaced with chain stores. MacArthur CVS, anyone? And don't get me started on Times Square. Yes - I actually in some ways preferred the peep shows! Thus ends my rant for the day.
