  1. #SavePhillyEats I posted about this effort to raise funds for Philly area restaurants back in March. Since then, additional chapters have been created. Now there is #SaveDCEats as well as #SaveCharmCityEats All three campaigns offer unique dining experiences, and discount gift cards.
  2. #repost Corduroy/Baby wale I spent the afternoon painting these signs for Corduroy and Baby Wale. "Virtual farmers' market" is a way for us to make produce available from small local farms that are not set up to sell to large grocery stores (they only sell to restaurants). Farmers had already planted crops when the virus hit, and the produce will be wasted if we don't use/sell through restaurants. People can order produce on Tock and pick them up curbside. Not the cheapest, but super fresh, sustainable, organic, and exclusive. We have a very small selection at the moment, but it will grow if the demand is there. We also have beer, wine, and liquor. We are liquidating our inventory! Trying to be the best prices (and best selections) in town. Virtual Farmers Market/ Carry out

  4. #repost via the Jack Rose Dining Saloon FB page Our fellow whisk(e)y lovers — the demand has been so great, our website crashed, our phone lines were busy, we are so appreciative for all the interest and support! . Please visit the link here: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/n8iohy728n5yy13/AADRApIx13CEfCwAs2MtOj-ma?dl=0. You will find the Whisk(e)y by the ounce menu — these prices do not NOT include discounts, so please take 50% off whiskeys $100+ per ounce, and 20% off all others. You’ll also find cocktails to-go, food and more. . These are subject to availability. If you’d like to place phone orders to-go, our lines will be open tomorrow (3/20) at 12:30. Our small team is trying to respond to everyone individually so thank you so much for your patience. . We will be open tomorrow at 1pm, with guests’ and staff’s safety at top priority, so expect many precautions in place including limited entrance, safe distancing & quick to-go service. . If you’re looking for anything specific, send us a DM or text our owner Bill personally (202-262-5637) and he will get back to everyone as soon as we can. We are overwhelmed by the support and hope that this will keep us and our staff here for decades to come. Thank you all. ❤️
  5. Jack Rose, from what Im reading, has auctioned off their collection to come up with cash during their closing as well. Laws were passed so mixed cocktails could be sold to create a semblance of revenue. Desperate measures are being made to try to make money. Is it good? Is it legal? Will it pose problems down the line in relation to keeping their liquor license? I have no idea to all of the above.
  6. Perhaps “curated collections” is not the right wording for what is being offered. Mix bottles? I pick, you buy? Whatever it may be, people want wine. Ill leave it up to the consumer to decide for themselves. I appreciate your heed of caution, like with everything, I am just offering suggestions.
  7. There is so much I want to say, but for now I will just say thank you for providing a platform for all of us to be able to have exchanges about everything ranging from where to eat , to the opportunities talk about just about anything. I am forever grateful.
  8. Thank you for chiming in @deangold . Lots of people are asking whats the best way they can help? Should I continue to buy carry out, but gift cards, or give directly to gofundme campaigns? I want to be able to do all of the above , and will do the best I can, & encourage everyone to help in any means they can afford to.
  9. #savephillyeats has been launched in the greater Philadelphia area to help raise money by providing dining experiences , discounts, as well as opportunities to help spread the word on how people can help!

  12. Just my opinion, our purpose here is to help one another. There are countless ways we can do this. Whether it is donating to a gofundme campaign, putting out a call for volunteers, sending an SOS to which neighborhood restos could use help, helping a neighbor with a grocery drop, directing resources, Etc... Someone could simply share & contribute to this post. That’s how we help. #lookforthehelpers, kat
  13. Support DC.com an aggregate list of restaurants offering gift cards!
  14. Lanc.care was created by Pennant Creatives, a creative agency based in Lancaster, to offer a one stop site listing several local businesses and services being offered. The hosting is offered at no charge. This is a brilliant way to see how you may be able to support local businesses. Each day, the list grows longer. We are all in to help, together.
  15. I am fervent in doing anything I can to help. I wish there was more I can do. Do whatever you can, within your means. Purchase take out DIRECTLY from businesses. Buy gift cards. Donate to relief funds. Buy whatever products they are offering. Offer cold hard cash if you can. Share ways to contribute on on your social media channels. Spread the word. This shut down, i fear will span much longer than anyone may anticipate, and unsure of what it will take to get back up to speed.
  16. Coronavirus puts Philly’s beloved small businesses at risk. Here’s how you can help save them, Adam Erace, inquirer.com
  17. Your intrigue is warranted. Every meal I’ve had did not disappoint. Every time, I order something different and it’s delicious.
  18. This spot would be extraordinary in the DMV! I am so lucky its in my neighborhood The eggplant & potato dish blew my mind. It kinda reminded me of a salt & pepper shrimp, but so much better.
  19. Laura Hays of Washington City Paper, recently asked why Philly does not have a Michelin Guide. Can someone chime in on this?
