  1. You can deduct the cost of your ticket as a tax-deductible charitable contribution minus $50 per ticket. (If you are purchasing a $250 ticket, $200 is tax deductible.) And secondly, the food is served from stations, staffed by the celebrity chefs themselves, throughout the ballroom of the Hilton Washington. Thank you for your questions, hope to see you there!

  3. Just by Dining Out at a participating restaurant on Thursday, March 11th, diners across the DC metro region will not just be filling their stomachs, they will also be feeding their souls. Proceeds, ranging from 25 to 100 percent, of each meal purchased that day at more than 150 different area restaurants will benefit thousands of area residents served by Food & Friends. In fact, such popular restaurants as Annie’s Paramount Steakhouse, Posto and Ristorante Tosca are among those donating 100% of their profits for the night, with Freddie’s Beach Bar contributing 110%! These donations go a long way to ensure Food & Friends can continue to offer life-sustaining services of providing home-delivered meals to those facing serious illness such as HIV/AIDS and cancer. There’s no better way to help a great cause than going to eat at a fabulous restaurant. Please visit www.foodandfriends.org/dol for more information, including a complete list of participating restaurants. For diners who have already decided which restaurant they would like to eat at for Dining Out for Life, reservations may be made at http://www.opentable.com/promo.aspx?m=9&pid=166. 4. Are you looking for a fun way to help the DC community that involves food AND friends? Then look no further! The non-profit organization Food & Friends is looking for volunteers to help make the 14th Annual Dining Out for Life as entertaining and rewarding as possible. On Thursday, March 11th, more than 150 restaurants around the DC Metro Area will donate 25 to 100 percent of their profits to support Food & Friends’ mission of providing nutritious meals to those facing serious illnesses such as HIV/AIDS and cancer. To make the day the resounding success it should be, Food & Friends is calling on volunteers to act as “ambassadors” to represent Food & Friends at each restaurant. Ambassadors will visit the diners’ tables, thank them for coming out to support such a great cause, sign the diners up for the free sweepstakes and receive any extra contribution the diner may wish to give. Without volunteers, Food & Friends would not be able to continue home-delivering life-sustaining meals to thousands of area residents. Becoming an ambassador is an excellent way to help the community while having a great time. For more information, contact Eliza Yoder, Special Events Assistant, at eyoder@foodandfriends.org or 202.269.6826.
