I like a little char on my crust---is that wrong?

Went last night, companion had a margherita pizza and I had venison ragu on stinging nettle pappardelli. both very good. Pizza somehow perfectly chewy crust and thin-crisp center. Amazing, but lacking a little on cheese. The Venison Ragu on the pasta was like amazingly good spaghetti and meat sauce.

I still miss Wrapworks:( Off-topic I know, but now that I work in the area, a hearty plate of tasty-sauced meat, beans, and salad with a crushed ice crink would hit the spot sometimes.

Finally got to have the pizza last night at Bebo and thought it was wonderful. Probably best sauce in town, though not much cheese (margherita). I think I like Red Rocks best so far (have also tried Paradiso and 2Amys)

I was in Bebo last night and it looked like they have a very large private area...Crystal City

Another vote here for El Chalan. Cozy and full of World Bank people, as stated above.

Just got back. Had 2 Alagash whites, a fresh buffalo mozzarella appetizer, a margherita and a pepperoni pizza. Verdict: Was very good. Perfect chewiness in the crust, very good toppings. Asked for olive oil for the crusts and they brought a ramekin of good, nice green stuff:) Beer served very cold, toppings tasty. Could taste the brick oven firing on the outside of the chewy crust. Reasonably quick service, and got to eat outside on one of the nicest nights of the year (still, room temp, stars visible). In my book, this beats 2 Amys and Paradiso (have yet to try Bebo for pizza or Comet) Thanks for the rec, DonRocks!

Wow, I've been wanting to go to Minibar for a long time and have always been daunted by getting reservations. What are recommended strategies to get reservations there? Thanks!

They don't give you a ton of food, but when I went, I had belgian beer and fried clams (from somewhere in New England, the server told me Hank's is the only place in DC that has this type) and the clams were SUPERB. So much flavor, and its unheard of to see clams with the foot attached this far south. Definitely recommend.

I have read my post and apologize for misspelling Brickskeller. I am a poor typist and look at my hands while typing, so I make a lot of mistakes, but I can spell, I swearz.

You must have missed the huge bottle of oilve oil on the table. And the 12-inchers aren't personal pizzas.

Recipe for success at Brickskellar: 1. Ask which types of Allagash they have. 2. Order 2 or 3 different bottles (750ml) 3. Enjoy with friends 4. Repeat They also have this garlic-y bread that sometimes comes on the cheese platter (ask for it), that's amazing. I like the pierogies, too (get em fried)
