Reston, VA – Lake Anne Florist introduces a new venture, “Virginia’s Finest Wine and Gourmet Foods”, co-located at 11426 Washington Plaza West, Lake Anne Village Center, where Virginia wine tastings are held monthly. The next wine tasting will coincide with “Love by the Glass – Virginia Wine Week” as proclaimed by VA Governor McDonnell during the week of March 22 – 28. On Thursday, March 25, 2010 from 5:30 – 7:30 PM, Loudoun Valley Vineyards will host our tasting with Winemaker Bree Ann Moore presenting her wines and signing bottles. There is no charge to attend and significant discounts by the bottle and case are offered. Barboursville, Chrysalis, Horton, Kluge, Loudoun Valley, Tarara, Whitehall, and Willowcroft are some of the Virginia Wineries represented at Lake Anne Florist, with continual expansion to include selections from more of the 150 vineyards now operating in Virginia. The varietals range from the better known Chardonnay, Cabernet Franc, Viognier and Norton (Virginia’s only native grape), to Pinot Gris, Traminette, Rose´ and Sparkling Viognier. Virginia wines offer a unique addition to creating Virginia Gift Baskets for special occasion gifting, complementing the bounty of foods made in Virginia - from peanuts to pound cakes; curds, jams and honeys; Smithfield ham, sausages, spoon bread mix; peanut and she crab soup; with handmade chocolates hand made on site by Chesapeake Chocolates.
