  1. After noticing that Yona opened up I finally made it over for my first meal. Unfortunately as others have mentioned their Ramen is quite disappointing compared to other options in DC. I had the miso porky and found that it was really salty and lacked any depth in flavor. I'll probably give it one last try, but stick to non ramen dishes.
  2. Here are my favorites in the Northern VA area. Peking Gourmet Marks Duck House (Dim Sum) Green Pig Rays the Steaks Four Sisters Pupatella Brabo Bangkok 54 Thai Square
  3. Soft opening report... I stopped in to check out the new restaurant layout and was pleasantly surprised by the quick makeover and the quality of the food. I had the sliders on their happy hour menu and also picked up chicken and waffles to go, since I live close by. Based on first impressions, the staff is still in soft opening mode and working hard to iron out the kinks while building a positive flow between bar, ordering, and dealing with new systems on short notice. Overall I think they have a solid foundation since the food has proven to be quite good, and on par with Rustico. This is a good sign since I'm guessing Ballston can accommodate another restaurant that delivers interesting food at a moderate price point. I'm curious to see what their sign will look like and how they will use the covered outdoor space. Although, their proximity to a busy intersection may make this challenging. Overall a good start to a new restaurant opening in a location where others have failed.
  4. Reviving this thread since this place is my go to spot in the Springfield area for Thai food. They consistently deliver excellent food regardless of what you order with large portions. I've been to Bankok Noodle, Thai Noodle House and this place is leaps and bounds better. I recommend the Krapow dishes (Thai spicy), and ask for the spices cart to add additional seasoning.
  5. Interesting commentary in this thread. I've been to Poste and went there for brunch. Overall the crown jewel of my experience was their fully loaded bloody marry bar. Specifically the fact that they had bacon infused vodka and a slew of pickled accessories. Otherwise the food was quite good. We got the mussels, cheese plate, and charcuterie plate. As mentioned, I have to agree that their bar and patio area is quite nice.
  6. Went to the Arlington location yesterday... Overall the wings were really good and were consistent with my experience at the Centerville location. Parking, as previously mentioned was free and located behind the restaurant. Based on the decor they are looking to target a more up scale market while serving the same food. This isn't a detractor for me since the food was always awesome.
  7. One of my good friends and I eat here quite often and are never disappointed. They recently changed out the executive and sous chef so I expect their menu will change shortly.
  8. Interesting. I frequented their food truck and really enjoyed what I felt was authentic Mexico street food. Based on the yelp reviews and pictures it appears they are sticking to the same menu and adding a few items. I'll have to check out their new digs if I'm in the U street area.
  9. Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. Pearl and I made the cucumber ,avocado, bacon, feta... salad. I'll post up the recipe in a few.
  10. Chef, when is the next round of Pig & Pinot scheduled? The last 2 I went to a couple months back were great BTW.
