  1. Old thread I know but I wanted to add a shout out to the new Fox's Den Tavern in Middleburg. Reopened last year ((was Hidden Horse) and it is a lovely place, probably my new fave in Middleburg. Food is well done without being really imaginative. Always satisfying flavors, lovely friendly atmosphere, attentive wait staff and moderately priced compared to other Middleburg establishments. For a true experience there is Ashby Inn but when money is tight and I want a wonderful night out, this is the place.
  2. Does anyone remember Henry Africa's? Christopher
  3. I need some interesting side dishes to go with a venison tenderloin roast. Thanks Christopher
  4. This is a very nice moderately priced restaurant in Front Royal. David and Stacey met while working at the Inn at Little Washington and this restaurant shows the pedigree. Element has a limited menu compared to upstairs at Apartment 2G, but the price is equally less demanding. This is our go to restaurant on free weekends and 2G is our special event place. It is fun to watch the kitchen prep your meal on the monitors in the upstairs dining rooms. Hard to believe they do what they do in such a tiny kitchen. Either Element or Apt 2G are worth the drive to Front Royal and there is plenty to do to fill a weekend. Christopher
  5. This is great news. We have a cabin very near Paris and go up almost every weekend. Trying the local restaurants is a main source of entertainment. One of my favorites in the area is Apartment 2G in Front Royal. I haven't been to Ashby Inn in a while and am happy to hear about the new chef and new aeshetic. I love the tap room especially in the winter and Sunday brunch has always been a delight. Christopher

  7. I often go to Tres Reyes for tacos. I seem to be addicted to tacos de lengua, and regularly attend most of the taquerias in this area. I love las Placitas especially for the variety and of course the taste. For some reason when I bring Tres Reyes tacos home I always find my mouth watering as I begin to unpack the bags. It is very odd I admit but there it is. Christpher
  8. I live in Riverdale right around the corner from Franklin's and have always found this brew pub disappointing. In its beginning its menu as stated earlier was all over the place in terms of cuisine style and none of them well done. I rarely eat there due to constant disappointment. I find the beers cloudy and not satisfying. I have always hoped someone would open a restaurant nearby to give them some competition so they might step up their game. It is a great location with a built in clientele but they seem to rest on being to only game in town.
  9. Hi. My name is Christopher. I have lived in DC well over 30 years now and 20 of those in Riverdale MD. Always interested in new and interesting food sites and especially looking for good eats in the MD area I am not in the business but am serious about food and dining. I am looking forward to hearing from everyone!
