  1. I just swung by there this morning and I absolutely love it. Their iced latte is strong but without the bitter taste. The macaron looks about the same size at the ones at Cacao but it's actually bigger. I'm not sure if the cookie is thicker or just have more cream. The lemon macaron was delicious. Looking forward to trying the hazelnut and pistachio macaron and almond croissant later this morning.
  2. Swung by China Star last Saturday and loved it. I know it's a Szechuan restaurant but their chicken lo mein was very tasty. My friend couldn't eat garlic and we asked them to not include it in the fish with bean curd dish. However they forgot and they were very nice about taking it back and making another one for us without the garlic. The spiciness in that dish was a one that gradually got spicy with each bite. I got a small beef stew with turnip soup that was enough to feed two people. I was expecting a beef tripe stew w/ turnips but tt was a basic beef stock with lots of turnips and several cubes of marinated beef. I was a little disappointed but the soup was good. Looking forward to trying other dishes at China Star.
  3. I was really lucky that my friend suggest New Heights last year or else I wouldn't have known about it. I've been there twice and really enjoyed the food and drinks. My friend and I will definitely go back to try Logan's new dishes.
  4. DC Restaurant week begins this coming Monday (1/17th). Are there any recommendations on which restaurants I should try?
  5. I went there last night and I was a bit disappointed. We ordered the Crab and Corn Drop Fritters which was tasty. The peach pepper jelly reminded me of spicy hot and sour saucy (very yummy). I ordered the gumbo and wasn't impressed with it. The sweet potato biscuit that came along with the gumbo was delicious. I wished we had ordered their bread basket. My friend order the Po'Boys - Combination. The bread was great but the oyster lacked any flavor and the shrimp was okay. Next time when I go back I have to fried chicken, which they didn't have that night, and the 815 Biscuits.
  6. Thanks for the posting. My friend and I swung by the place this past weekend and I loved the place. We had shaved iced with red beans and fruit (kiwi, cantaloupe, honeydew, oranges, and canned tropical mix fruit) and I enjoyed the ice and red beans. We also had a chocolate mousse cake that was a bit disappointing. I'm looking forward to going back and trying something else.
  7. Matuba all you eat sushi lunch buffet is a good deal. It's about $14 w/o drink and tip. They only have it on Tuesdays-Fridays at their rotary bar. They have some nigirizushi, rolls, temakisuhi, salad, dumplings, chicken teriyaki, and other small dishes. It's not a big selection but it's very tasty. There's also a dinner buffet there but I've never been. Their regular lunch menu is also a pretty good deal.
  8. Hi! My name is Gloria. I'm looking forward to trying new places people are recommending on this blog.
