[posted on eGullet 2005] Finally got to BlackSalt last night for dinner (9 pm res) and had an enjoyable meal. The restaurant was bustling when we arrived and we started with a nice glass of wine at the bar while our table was being prepared. We decided to order 2 small plates and 2 apps while we decided what to have for our main course. We asked our waiter if this would be a problem, and he said it was fine and that the 2 small plates would arrive first and then the apps. Well the apps came out first, followed a little bit later by our small plates. Not a huge problem, but I would have been

We had dinner at Addie's last night, and while it's still cute and one of the few non-chain, non-ethnic restaurants in Montgomery County, it has slipped, and slipped a lot, since were there last year. Addie's is a sentimental destination for us; we ate there the night before our daughter was born and as a parent it's hard to forget your last carefree, kid-free meal, before high chairs or babysitters become part of your life. There is an informal, cozy feel to the reataurant (located in a converted house), which is charming when the cooking rises to the level of the prices they are charging

We had originally had reservations at Addie's but cancelled when we saw what looked to be a rather underwhelming and overpriced fixed price menu. We decided to roll the the dice and try to get seated at Black Market Bistro (hoping that arriving early (6 pm), would help. We were disappointed to find that Valentine's Day is one o

My spy informs me you have an awesome silk screen printing on the wall (and even brought me a pack of Black Jack gum, a piece of which I'm enjoying right now). Congratulations! Bocce ball !! --- ETA - The menu at Black Jack is funny, one of the more entertaining menus in the city. There's an item named D.O.C.B.S. with roma tomatoes, fresh buffalo mozzarella, and basil. A gulf shrimp sandwich is described as 'a lot better than a lobster truck, and we bring it to you.' Jeff Black Gone Wild.
