8 friends want to get together for dinner in a couple of weeks. Some from NW DC, some in Silver Spring. Looking for a place with good, moderately priced food, preferably in NW, Bethesda, SS, good ambiance where we can hang out for a while. Please save us from ending up at Maggiano's! On first pass I thought of Buck's but I am sure there are other great options I am forgetting.

Hi, Quick trip to NYC just came up for tomorrow. Looking for something like Corduroy - quiet enough for a decent work conversation, excellent food, but not Per Se pricing as I have to pick up the tab for 5 of us. Ideally, this place is a quick walk from Penn Station. I love going to Ma Peche, but it's a bit too far, and they can't take 5 people til later in the evening. Any advice appreciated! Thanks!

I stupidly put off planning for a trip to Chicago this weekend and would love any dining recommendations where it won't be impossible to get a reservation. Can be ethnic, off the beaten path, etc. Only criteria is that it be in the city (or lyft-able) and not be too expensive (more than $35/entree).

Heading to NYC to see Hamilton this weekend. Due to the cost of the tickets, I have approximately $38 to spend on dinner!!!! In all seriousness, can I get any recommendations for dinner somewhere in midtown that will be very good but not break me? Thanks in advance

I am taking 3 or 4 people out to dinner. Last time I took one of them to a very nice place, and expensive (Marcel's). It was great but he commented on the price saying something like it must be nice to be in my business (health non-profit...funding from for-profits). Anyway, ignoring the fact that he DOES work for a for-profit, I want to take him and some others from his industry out to dinner to talk about a difficult topic. What's good, quite, near downtown, open on Monday, has good service but is not "expensive". How expensive is Corduroy. I would love to go back there. Or, someplace that will give menus without prices and just take my credit card. Must serve alcohol.

Contemplating a quick overnight trip to NYC to celebrate my birthday mid-January. I did this once before and enjoyed an amazing multi-course lunch at Le Berdardin and another great meal at Momofuku Ssam the following day. Specifically looking for a new place for dinner on a Saturday night, moderately priced (i.e. not Per Se or even Le Bernardin prices, but doesn't have to be cheap). Something with a focus on locally sourced food. Aside from that and price, not many constraints (although I'd probably prefer to not do Italian since I try not to eat much in the way of grains). Also would love suggestions for the rest of the trip. Maybe a quick, lighter bite on Saturday and a lunch place on Sunday or vice versa (also trying to work in a showing of Constellations, but haven't figured out the best schedule for all of this yet!). Thanks!

We are taking the little guy to the Empire State Building next Saturday. After that we have to be at a concert at W 21st and 5th Ave by 6:30. So we are looking for a kid-friendly, not budget busting, dinner that we can have around 4:30 or 5 pm. He has pretty wide-ranging tastes but taking him to Craft is kind of out of my budget. At six, he is eating more than I am and I don't want to discuss how tall he is. And I suspect that he will be a little (a lot) wired post-ESB so someplace where the volume is already a little on the exuberant side, would be a good thing. Thanks!
