The obvious choice here is Eamonn's; a less-obvious choice is Pita House. For something more refined, try the $19 prix-fixe lunch at Bastille.

A la Lucia's for Italian-It's in N. Old Town.

Daniel O'Connel's for pub and Irish fare.

Avoid Overwood like you would avoid a village that was just hit with an outbreak of Ebola.

A little further up Washington Southside could offer a decent lunch option.

The Majestic is also open for lunch, as is Vermilion. Both of them would be fun places to have lunch with the girls. I'm making a wild assumption that your party will be all-female - even if it's co-ed, they'd still be good choices . If the weather is nice, the garden at Taverna Cretekou is a lovely spot, as is le jardin at Le Gaulois.

If driving, be warned that the Alexandria Festival of the Arts is going on tomorrow and Sunday. This means King Street will be closed from Washington Street to the waterfront and will likely have an impact on traffic. If you're taking Metro, use the Blue line as they will be doing maintenance on the Yellow line.
