Metro Center. Lunch/brunch Sunday at 1 p.m. with a likewise-poor college friend. We're willing to spend a little more than usual if it's truly worth it: think more "value" than "bargain basement."

I'm a total shill, but Bis does a three-course brunch for $26. Menu is on www.bistrobis.com.

I love Jaleo down there. Since I have a secret addiction to Sangria, it makes for a relativly cheaper experience. I am not a fan of Cafe Atlantico but only went once. Zayatina is a puzzlement to me (Jeez I fell like Yul Bryner saying that!). I usually like about half of what we order and the other half seems to have no flavor.

I'm one of the people who rave over the Cafe Atlantico brunch.

The vegetarian tasting is $24.95/person, you wont miss the meat (although you might want to order a plate of duck confit on the side...), and have PLENTY of food for two.
