1000yregg
I went to Ze Mean Bean Cafe in Fells Point last week for dinner. Monday was $12 for 12 bottles night- we decided to try an ok malbec with dinner. We started with the Slavic Sampler appetizer which consisted of 3 pierogis (cheese, saeurkraut, potato), a holupki, a potato pancake and some kielbasa. The pierogis were delicious- particularly the cheese. For my dinner, I opted for a few more appetizers- the borsht which was made with golden beets that night, and the holushki, potato dumplings fried in butter with mushrooms and veggies. I tried some of my friend's Hungarian goulash as well. I'm not a huge fan of Eastern European cuising, but I would say the meal overall was decent. I would recommend going on nights they are running specials as the price point was a little high. pics 1739 Fleet Street Baltimore, MD (410) 675-5999
theminx
I'm Polish and I go to Ze Mean Bean when I miss my grandmother's cooking. Their barszcz is as close as I've found to hers.
