I noticed that Amma Vegetarian Kitchen, just down M Street a block from Morso, is gone. There's a sign on the building that says "Georgetown Wings" or something like that. A shame. Amma was a good place to get a low-cost and tasty dosa or thali platter.

This is really too bad. I always liked this place. With Amma's closing, is there anywhere in DC proper for dhosas now? Or is treking out to Woodlands or Udupi Palace in Maryland (which on recent visits has not been all that great) the only way to get our fix?

It's nice to see some tributes being paid to Amma (would be nice to see a word or two about Fettoush as well - home of the first shish-taouk I ever had).

You can still get dosai in the city limits at Nirvana and Aditi.
