DanCole42
My best friend is turning the big 3-0, so I wanted to take her out for dinner/drinks. She would prefer NW/SW DC (we spend too much time in Virginia already). Under normal circumstances we'd end up at Ray's the Steaks, so figure on that price level and that awesomeness level. We both prefer a more relaxed environment. Thoughts?
mame11
The patio at New Heights sounds like it might be perfect...
goodeats
Where in NW DC? In SW, you always have the Sou'Wester. But in NW, there is such a variety. Cork Ripple DINO Eola? (Not sure about relaxed atmosphere, as I've never been there) Buck's
Rovers2000
In NW DC I'd go with: New Heights Dino The bar at Palena The above are all off the redline (Woodley Park for New Heights, Cleveland Park for Dino, Palena) If you're not constrained by the metro I'd also suggest: BlackSalt (although you're probably heading up towards the top of your price range if I remember correctly) SushiKo
Sthitch
Eola? (Not sure about relaxed atmosphere, as I've never been there) It is relaxed, however, there is not a bar area.
DanCole42
It is relaxed, however, there is not a bar area. A bar is not required. Also, I was just told no sushi.
DanCole42
Now she's insisting that the place be "relaxing." I don't know what she means. Not even my wife is this high maintenance...
Pat
I personally find Dino relaxing, but that may just be me. Does New Heights fit the requirements? (And maybe you want to ask her what characteristics she associates with "relaxing.")
leleboo
(And maybe you want to ask her what characteristics she associates with "relaxing.") Definitely sounds like you need to start there. Waitman
The most "relaxing" spot in town is Bombay Club. Sadly, the food kinda sucks these days. Marcel's.
DanCole42
Fuck it. I'm taking her to Dino.
