I have been finding Kabocha at my local Safeway, believe it or not. My WF never has it.

I've been getting them at our local Asian markets, the Grand Mart in Sterling in my case. There were more of them 2 months ago than now, but there are still plenty.

My CSA has had all sorts of great squash- Kabocha and others.

I see them in every Asian supermarket in the area. They're typically next to the sweet potatoes and yams.

Months at the farmers market: Quaker Valley Farm & Orchards for one. (Formerly H St & Foggy Bottom, now Silver Spring and Dupont Circle in town--perhaps others.)

I bought a kabocha squash from Spring Valley Farms this morning at the Dupont Farmers market. A couple of other vendors seemed to have them as well.
