DonRocks
This Fredericksburg-based rye is named in homage to Abraham Bowman, a colonel in the Revolutionary War (click, and if you really want to dig deep, there's a Wikipedia entry here). This is not one of the greatest ryes I've had, but it's very good, and leagues better than a recent bottle of Catoctin Creek Roundhouse Rye I purchased (for around $40 - distilled in Purcellville, Virginia) which comes across to me as a "fermented spirit," but nothing resembling a rye. Click around their website, and you can find all you need to know - it's a very good drink, and painfully expensive at $70 a bottle retail. This distillery is owned by Buffalo Trace, which purchased it in 1993.
