ol_ironstomach Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 Dr Pepper Snapple sues oldest Dr Pepper licensee and original bottler over variant name, retro labels, and availability. Houston Chronicle story here. Response here. Not sure what braniac at DPS thinks this won't draw more attention to Dublin Dr P, but I believe this is commonly referred to as "pissing on your ancestor's grave" except in this case, said ancestor is very much alive. The Dublin bottler was the first formal Dr Pepper franchise (in 1925), and the first to sell it as a bottled drink (in 1891) and not just as a pharmacy syrup. FWIW, the only Dublin Dr P I saw outside of their home area was in expensive retro bottles, and could not be confused with the local bottler's regular product.
goldenticket Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 I saw Dublin Dr. Pepper available at the fountain machine in a P. Terry's in Austin over the weekend...
