Wine on the Water, Alexandria Seaport Foundation Wine Tasting Fundraiser, May 21, 2016, 6-8 pm

Recommended Posts

I believe this is the 3rd year for the Alexandria Seaport Foundation's Wine on the Water. It's a fun event that supports a great program. You can't beat spending a late spring evening along the Potomac with a glass of wine. From their e-invite:

Quote

Please join us on Saturday, June 9 in the Alexandria Seaport Foundation's workshop, on the Old Town Alexandria waterfront, for a festive wine tasting event sponsored by Grape + Bean. While sipping a variety of fabulous wines and tasting an array of cheeses and charcuterie, you can walk around the boat-building workshop. You'll see wooden boats being built by at-risk youth who are changing their lives through the Alexandria Seaport Foundation programs. The Potomac River dory boats have come a long way since you saw them last year. Christening of the WILLIAM HENRY July 21!

Tickets are $45, $55 after June 1. Available online at http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/243578 or phone 1-800-838-3006.

Full disclosure, a good friend of mine is on their Board, but I would support the organization and recommend the event, even if that wasn't the case. Hope to see some of you there!

Time again for the Alexandria Seaport Foundation's Wine on the Water - two weeks from today, June 1.

Details here; purchase tickets here.

As usual, Grape + Bean are the generous sponsors of this year's event. As I wrote above, it's hard to find a better way to spend a spring evening, and the ASF does great work with young people that need a second chance.

(maybe a kind moderator can update the thread title to reflect this year's date...thanks)

The Alexandria Seaport Foundation's Wine on the Water event happens one week from Saturday: June 7, 2014, from 6-8pm.

Wine, cheese, charcuterie, music, silent auction, raffle for a sailing canoe - a fun evening for a great cause!

This will be the last year the event is held at the 2 Duke Street location. The warehouse where the Alexandria Seaport Foundation workshop is located will be demolished as part of the Alexandria waterfront development plan.

Purchase tickets here - buy before midnight tomorrow (May 30) to get the early bird price of $55; $65 after that.

(Tune in to NBC4 today between 4pm and 7pm - they'll be airing a story about the Alexandria Seaport Foundation. It will also be available on NBC4's website)

Bumping this up because the 2016 edition of the event is coming up next weekend:

Alexandria Seaport Foundation's Wine on the Water, Saturday, May 21, 2016, 6-8pm. The event is held along the Potomac River, next to the Alexandria Seaport Center, steps from Founders Park and the Torpedo Factory.
As always, it's a fun event for a really great organization doing great work for at-risk youth in the community through their apprentice program. They also help middle-schoolers learn math through hands-on exercises and carpentry.

The wine, food, and views at the event are worth the price of admission; knowing you're helping to change lives is priceless.

Buy your tickets by the end of the day tomorrow (5/13) to get early bird pricing.
