monavano
Mr. MV and I carved out some time on a recent visit to go to the Headhouse Square Farmers Market....you will be reminded of Dupont if you go! Aside from seasonal produce, and meats, eggs, cheese etc......you will find 2 food vendors. I call on AB to speak with TPTB at FF markets to do this in the DC area markets....get some good food in there! Sweet Lucy'sand a Tacos al Pastor vendor were at market to satisfy your hunger, more than some generous samples. If you are in the area, in season, it's on Sunday morning, 10-2...go! monavano
I wanted to throw in a blurb about farmers markets in Philly. Sat, there is the Rittenhouse Square market, from 10 until 3 or 4. Sunday, there is the Headhouse Square market from 10-2. Both are excellent, and chock full of seasonal produce, organic meats and cheeses, other cheeses, pastries, honey, maple syrup etc, etc, etc. Lots of goodness from Amish country. Here's what I brought home last weekend (thank goodness the hotel had a fridge in the room!). Not pictured is a half dozen beautiful artichokes. I was very inspired by my dinner at Modo Mio And yes, that purple cauliflower is bigger than my head.
monavano
Thanks! And one more Philly question - any farmers' markets worth going to on Saturday or Sunday? Rittenhouse Square on Saturday Headhouse Square on Sunday I'd suggest taking a walk to Reading Terminal for breakfast at the Dutch Eating Place or Down Home Diner. Dibruno's is really fun to check out and grab a quick something that catches your eye (and a little something for your pantry ).
