Choirgirl21
I see a lot of discussion of VA wines on the site lately, but still not much on Maryland wines. Understandable as MD is behind VA in terms of number of wineries and quality, but great wines are still being made in Maryland! Here are this year's awards, with Black Ankle winning the Governor's Cup for the 4th time since they opened 5 years ago with our 2010 Crumbling Rock (we also won Best in Class for best white blend with our 2012 Bedlam): http://marylandwine.com/awards/2013-MD-Governor%27s-Cup-Competition
ChiantiandFava
Did Elk Run not enter the competition? Their reds are uneven but I found their whites (particularly the Gewurztraminer and the Pinot Gris) to be very good.
