I just saw this:

KitchenAid Pro Line Cordless Hand Blender

This appears to be a new item and I can't find a single review of it anywhere on the Intertubes, including Amazon. Does anyone here have any thoughts about KitchenAid hand blenders? I am starting to help equipment my nephew with cooking supplies, since he lives off-campus and has to do his own cooking. This just seems to be an awfully good price, but not if it doesn't work very well.

No, but I did go shopping for a power drill the other day, and the gentleman at Brown's Hardware (<--- highly recommended) was subtly urging me away from cordless models. "They're fine ... when they're fully charged," he said, countering my comment about manoeuvrability with something about having a long extension cord.

I'd say no, too. Go with a cheaper, corded stick blender. As Don alluded to, these batteries lose power and then what? Or, the blender sits there unused for a while and the battery drains and isn't ready for the task at hand.

I can hardly remember to keep my phone plugged in!

eta: it sure is purdy, tho :)

I didn't even think about it, since I don't have anything cordless (except the cell phone). I was just dazzled by the price. I'll stick with the stuff I already have on my Amazon wish list. Thanks, both of you.
