Dr. Delicious
Heavily discounted, and so comparatively inexpensive...I was surprised to see a (nearly) $300 bottle of wine in Giant (sentence could end here, btw) on sale for (nearly) $100 off the full retail price. I meant to note the wine, vintner, etc. but was in a rush.
aaronsinger
My mom loves Schramsberg, and at a local World Market the other day they had a bottle of their Mirabelle on sale for $12. Looks like it normally goes for around $20? Wonder if it's any good.
mr food
2013 Helfrich - Pinot Blanc Alsace- $13.99 on sale at Calvert-Woodley. New producer to me. Screwcap really emphasizes the fresh, fruity flavors.
JPW
Just go to Weygandt and ask TIm, Warren, or any of the fabulous staff to pick something out for you. They have scores of nice bottles around $15 - $20. For now, I'll plug the Plouzeau Chinon. Lovely stuff.
lperry
Total Wine's current coupon is 20% off anything Old World that isn't already on sale or in a bottle larger than 1.5 liters. Nice for weekday libations.
lperry
If you join the World Market mailing list, there is currently 30% off many of their wines if you buy a full case.
goodeats
I don't drink enough to justify buying a case, but the Pontificis sold at Trader Joe's for $6.99 is a nice wine to pair with your meal, without breaking the bank. I like that it is versatile enough that, while its flavors come out more when served at a red-friendly warm temperature, it tastes pretty good at a slightly colder temperature.
