DonRocks
Steve Cutts' home page is here - I'm not sure of his birth year. I generally don't condone political discussions here, but sometimes art, by its very nature, is political - all opinions are welcome.
DonRocks
I'm drawing a blank, darn it. This is the same theme Peter Lorre (who, up until now, I always thought was German, not Hungarian) is whistling at the beginning of Fritz Lang's "M" (1931), one of the greatest films ever made. I'm not going to cheat and Google it, so what is it? It's something "big and important," but I can't remember what. If I recall, it was also in "Fantasia" (1940). porcupine
It's from the Peer Gynt Suite by Edvard Grieg. "In the Hall of the Mountain King." I don't think it was in Fantasia, which did have "Night on Bald Mountain", which is kind of similar... or maybe you're thinking of "The Rite of Spring", which is similar in that it is rather percussive for an orchestral piece.
