DonRocks Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 aaaaand mixtec is gone. Thanks, turbogrrl. This was first reported by PoPVille who cites Washingtonian (click on either or both for more information). How is it possible that we didn't have a Mixtec thread? We've discussed it before, many times. If someone finds one, please PM me its location - I suspect it's here, somewhere, and I just missed it.
Gadarene Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 That is a damn shame. I really enjoyed their brunch chilaquiles and pozole. They'll be missed. Meanwhile, Pasta Mia keeps on trucking next door, dispensing monstrous portions of mediocre noodles to lines of people. Ah, justice.
zoramargolis Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 I stopped going to Mixtec years ago, after they served me a chile relleno filled with spoiled cheese.
DonRocks Posted April 15, 2014 Author Posted April 15, 2014 I stopped going to Mixtec years ago, after they served me a chile relleno filled with spoiled cheese. This happened to me once in Little Mexico (can't remember where) - few things are more foul.
smithhemb Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 This was our first "favorite restaurant" in DC, back in the days when our student loan debt burden was toweringly high and I still missed California. Sad to see them go.
