ktmoomau Posted January 11, 2021 Posted January 11, 2021 I will admit to having eaten a bit more fast food during covid than I normally do, and I have been bored so I have been trying to switch things up and try places I haven't been in a long time. Between just trying to be safe to and from court appearances, and when traveling, we have done a lot more drive through, car eating. I normally am a Chicfila, Taco Bell, Popeyes kind of girl, but I went to Burger King up in Garrett County, and I will say of all the typical you can find in any small town fast food joints (so not Shake Shack, etc) I think Burger King might have one of the better burgers. I hadn't eaten a Burger King likely since high school. I thought it was a big sandwich, the meat tasted like meat, it wasn't essence of meat like at McDonald's.

You sound like both my mother and my husband. I have a thing for Dairy Queen myself, but they both want BK if we are eating fast food. (I kinda have a weakness for ice cream. And onion rings. BK only has one of those.) (I note, my mother no longer eats red meat, so not a thing any more there.) When I was a kid, I used to like a place called Carrol's. It was a very upstate NY thing. They had very distinctive architecture and cool cartoon glasses. My husband had never heard of it. Several years ago, we stopped at a Burger King somewhere in MD. It looked like a Carrol's to me. A bit of googling later, and it turns out, Carrol's and BK were related and eventually became the same. So perhaps I like BK more than I knew. 2
