DaveO
Joe Cocker's passing reminded me of this version of Dylan's "Just Like a Woman". This is such a soul full rendition: Always liked it. ...and come to think of it...a beautiful sexy version by Roberta Flack jeez I like that song!!! The Hersch
Okay, here's Joe Cocker in 1976 singing Dylan's "The Man in Me" (from Dylan's 1970 album New Morning). And for good measure "I Shall Be Released" at Woodstock.
DaveO
Oh my, Joe Cocker did a lot of Dylan...but my favorite was this little duet: Now these guys can perform again.
DaveO
From a retrospective piece from Life Magazine from 1971; don't Joe Cocker and his mum look loving together??
DaveO
A little replay of a classic SNL riff from yr 2 (or possibly the 2nd half of year 1): Joe Cocker and John Belushi....two terrific performers.....
Steve R.
Great clip -- I've watched it many times, since I'm a fan of both of them. Reports have it that Cocker was upset at watching Belushi, since he didn't recognize (or appreciate) the movements. At least 35 years ago (I know that much because I was with a previous girlfriend, something that was frowned upon after I took up with my wife 35 years ago), I stood on line waiting for a table at a then popular Indian restaurant in Manhattan (Mitali) one block from the Fillmore East. Right in front of me/us was Joe Cocker. I was totally amazed that, in the 15-30 minutes we were there together-ish, he had none of his singing "mannerisms" while socializing.
