Tim Carman's story in the Washington Post

This is related to the guys who own Cava. I like their lamb chops and spanakopita better than Cava's, and I had both last week! Can't say I have enjoyed the Italian specialties on the menu, though.

Half price bottles of wine on Tuesdays.

Nice homemade baklava and galaktoboureko! Some of the other desserts are from bakeries.

We've somehow missed this place though we pass right by it. Across the street from the Safeway where we shop.

We eat at Greek Islands Grill fairly frequently, not because it is great, but it is convenient.  No the gyro is not as good as some, but it is not bad.  The appetizers are pretty good, especially the spreads and the octopus,  the desserts range from great to OK.  I usually get a gyro platter or the pork souvlaki or sometimes the lamb shanks.  Bottom line, nice folks, decent and fairly authentic Greek food, and not badly priced
