Bierocracy - Beer Hall at Jackson Avenue and 47th Road in Long Island City

Recommended Posts

After a long afternoon of museum going, one needs a beer.  Bierocracy is conveniently located a couple blocks from MoMA PS 1.

Low lighting, long communal tables, good selection of German and Czech style beers.  The soft pretzels are well worth ordering, while the seasoned fries were fine (would have liked a little tub of mayo instead of ketchup).  I enjoyed the Bayreuther Zwick'l (Rustic, copper-colored lager with a sweet, caramel-like body that finishes with just a slight bite).  Beers come in a fun collection of mugs and bier steins.

On an early Saturday evening (6pm-ish), plenty of young families and kids having fun along with someone celebrating a birthday, things were starting to get crowded when we left around 8:30pm.

Overall seemed like a fun neighborhood place to gather some friends and drink a couple of beers.
