JLK
I really enjoyed this essay and thought some of you might as well. As a Van Ness dweller, I was green with envy reading about the various options in Jackson Heights. Me? I have the new "Coat of Arms" at my doorstep. How amazing does this sound? I spotted a Hispanic couple pushing a stroller and munching on corn-on-the-cob-on-a-stick. It was slathered with mayo, rolled in powdery cotija cheese and splattered, Jackson Pollock-style, with chili powder. A vacancy opened up in my stomach. Somewhere around here lurked a mobile corn vendor.
StephenB
Yes, this piece is very well written and as one who has family in Jackson Heights, I can attest that it's accurate. But how does the author feel about kugels? The attached slide show is also worth visiting.
zoramargolis
But how does the author feel about kugels? How could anyone growing up with the name Seth Kugel NOT be obsessed with food?
