Ferris Bueller
New Greek restaurant in Great Falls off Seneca Road at the corner of Route 193 and Route 7. Have not had the opportunity to try it yet, but from their website, the Chef has a great background. http://www.ourmomeugenia.com/
DonRocks
Thanks, Ferris Bueller, for posting about this restaurant. Three quick things: 1) Do you know when this opened? (Answer: In late Dec, 2016) 2) Is Eugenia Hobson the actual chef in the kitchen, or is this just an homage to her by her family? It isn't entirely clear to me. 3) Note the fairly priced wine list - Greek and other Mediterranean lists often feature very pleasant wines at relatively affordable prices. Pat
The "Meet the Chef" page says she's the executive chef.
Ferris Bueller
Finally made it here for dinner this evening. Service was great, food (and presentation) excellent. From the Greek Salad (or course), to their meatballs to filet, and Moussaka entrees - all were cooked properly and had great flavor. Desserts were another treat with traditional baklava, a special applecake, and Greek custard with Phyllo dough accompanied by Greek coffees. Place was packed by the time we left at 7:45. Bar area is small, as is the restaurant (maybe 50 people max capacity). They are also now open for lunch which is great - parking was the biggest challenge as the lot is small and with other businesses open in the evening, it was challenging to find a spot.

Ferris Bueller
Daily lunch specials are a treat - actually found myself in the area today and grabbed a late lunch. Service is solid as is fresh food and tastes. Noticed several Greek-speaking patrons at different tables, which makes me think they appeal to the discriminating countrymen as well. Ferris Bueller
Have been back here several times for lunch specials and dinner - service, food and atmosphere continue to be solid. It is a small place so it fills up quickly, but it is nice to have a decent Greek place without driving to Tysons area.
jderryup
We’ve been several times as well. Father’s Day specials included watermelon and warm feta appetizer arranged like a 3D chess board. Get it if they have it and if you have a taste for such things. Haven’t had anything yet that wasn’t a Greek treat.
Ferris Bueller
Had another excellent dinner here this evening. Started with the Saganaki which is flaming cheese for lack of a better description. They had a special tonight with a stuffed pepper and tomato with lemon roasted potatoes. I had the Moussaka - which was excellent - light and very flavorful. All paired with a nice bottle of wine, and great service. Place was busy for a Thursday.
jderryup
We were going to expand our curbside options and take what for us is a ride in the country. Happy surprise to find a second location in Mosaic Center! Lamb chops and moussaka came out just exactly the same as the original and 20 minutes closer to getting back home. Here's hoping the expansion works out for them.
yeah
Been to the Mosaic District location twice this summer. Both times the standout was the grilled octopus. A single, long tentacle with char on the outside, moist tenderness on the outside and bright lemon throughout. Also enjoyed the spanikopita and the whole branzino, but the octopus is essential.
DonRocks
I saw a sign in Shirlington today that says the third (!) location of Our Mom Eugenia is coming.
Bob Wells
We had a great family meal at the OG in Great Falls. Everyone was happy. My son the picky eater had the lamb chops and loved them. The rest of us pretty much made a meal out of the extensive appetizer selections.

I went there for lunch on Jan 2, 2019, and they were really selling the “family” aspect of the restaurant. Now about that pot-braised lamb at Cava … 😉
