Tweaked
We are fortunate to have many, many options for the arts in the DC-area, including arts education...youth and adult classes for all ages, talents, and interests. This is certainly not an exhaustive list, but hopefully covers many of the options. Most offer multi-week sessions with instruction from a teaching artist, short weekend workshops, and drop-in/open sessions (ie: pay a small fee for 2 or 3 hours of non-instruction art, this is a popular way to do figure drawing) Capitol Hill Arts Workshop (Eastern Market/Barracks Row area) The Art League (Torpedo Factory in Old Town Alexandria) Washington Studio School (S Street NW, Dupont Circle area) Smithsonian Associates (S. Dillon Ripley Center on the Mall) Arlington Arts Center (Wilson Boulevard, Virginia Square area) Eastern Market Pottery (Eastern Market) Hinckley Pottery (Georgetown/Blues Alley) Washington Glass School (Mt. Rainier, MD) Pyramid Atlantic Art Center (Paper and print making. Gateway Arts District Hyattsville, MD) The Woodworkers Club (Rockville, MD) Brentwood Arts Exchange (Riverdale, MD) Glen Echo Park (Glen Echo, MD) Winter Palace Studio (Georgetown and Bethesda)
