I’ve been reading it for decades, a habit picked up from my father who had a subscription for decades long before I could read
DaveO
The Atlantic is a venerable publication, having been founded before the Civil War and still publishing to this day. A recent article suggests it’s greatest sentence; quite a suggestion considering it’s age and list of formidable contributors.
DaveO
A compilation of 50 articles (I think 50 different authors) write about Donald Trump (No it isn’t favorable but the articles are on different topics and cover a lot of territory)
Count Bobulescu
Not that I have anything against Jeffrey Goldberg, but The Atlantic was a literary and cultural gem long before he arrived. Owner David Bradley who turned it around financially recently sold a majority stake to the Emerson Collective run by Laurene Powell Jobs.

Come to think of it I agree. Having been introduced to it in the 1960’s via my father’s subscription: that period being over 100 years since its founding; it has been a prominent intellectual thought provoking, literary and cultural gem of a publication for an exceedingly long period long long before Jeffrey Goldberg joined it. In fact what grabbed me at that earliest personal period was that it’s articles were challenging and interesting for my developing brain. Proud to have been a subscriber for some years.
