GFKathy
Hi all, I’m Kathy and new to the group. I’m always up for new and interesting dining experiences so am excited to join you all. I am particularly interested in any thoughts on folks that do gluten free really well. My immediate quest is to find something great in the U Street area for dinner before a show at Lincoln Theatre (@12th). Thanks!
guanabana
Can you do Japanese? Seki is close by. You may want to check ahead to see if they can substitute tamari for soy sauce.
Kev29
Dean is really good about annotating his menu and offering gluten-free options at Dino's Grotto a few blocks away on 9th.
GFKathy
Thanks for the great reccos. Dino’s is excellent, and yes, he does a wonderful job with gluten free. Not only does he annotate his menu, but offers gluten free pasta. I haven’t had a chance to try the pasta yet as I went for the risotto which was excellent and full of seasonal veggies. I’ll take a look at Seki and see what the options might be.
ktmoomau
What about Doi Moi? They have a whole GF menu on their website.
Mark Dedrick
My go-tos before shows at Lincoln Theater or U Street Music Hall tend to be Seki or Archipelago. Ranging slightly further afield, other pre-show favorites for us at 930 Club, DC9 and Black Cat include Hazel, Haikan, Kyirisan, Bar Pilar, Lupo Verde and Doi Moi. --- Archipelago (funkyfood)

There are a couple of other threads that may also help you: Dining in Shaw, and Dining in 14UP. There's also the Dining Guide, which may mysteriously appear. --- U Street Music Hall (Tweaked)
