2019 marks the 350th anniversary of Rembrandt's death.  There are multiple exhibitions opening around the world marking the anniversary.  And course many articles being written.  We will try to keep the more engaging material consolidated here.

You should of course take the opportunity to go see the Rembrandts at the National Gallery of Art.  Long before the "selfie" was a thing, Rembrandt was crushing the self portraits.  During his career he produced almost 100 self portraits, including 40 paintings and 31 etchings.  Needless to say he was prolific!

He was the Alfred Hitchcock cameo before there was an Alfred Hitchcock cameo - he even painted himself into "The Night Watch."
