Special Bday Dinner (not necessarily high end) for 6

I'm looking for a place for dinner with good food and some type of special experience for a 70th birthday for 6 people including 2 kids. The bday boy isn't so much into high end/fancy restaurants but it would be nice to have something out of the ordinary since it is a special birthday. I thought already about the Compass Rose Bedouin Tent but am curious for other ideas.  We need non-pork and non-red meat options, but chicken, fish, etc are fine. Thanks.

Buck's Fishing & Camping springs to mind for some reason.  Maybe not out-of-the-ordinary enough?

I am always a fan of Convivial for these types of events. It's where @MichaelBDC and I went to celebrate our engagement with friends, it's where we take family who come into town, and it has also hosted a large reunion dinner with former co-workers. 

Iron Gate would also be a good choice place for a birthday dinner.
