If anyone else is brewing jun kombucha, I'd love to know and share ideas. I've been sampling some Kombuchas of late, and wonder what people think of it in general - not necessarily "who does what," but more of the big picture (we can certainly does a "who does what" in the Restaurants and Dining forum - the first time I can remember having it was at the kiosk at Union Market). A friend of mine had a lot of it in one sitting, and had some tummy trouble - is this common? I know very little about it - in fact, I'm not quite sure what it is. Katya4me
Kombucha at it's simplest is fermented tea and definitely can upset your system if you have too much. I'm not as big a fan of regular kombucha, which has a black tea base, but enjoy jun kombucha, which is made from green tea. Some folks rave about the supposed health effects, others call out the minimal alcohol content. Me, I'm in it for taste.
