Midlands, Beer Garden on Georgia Ave in Park View

Recommended Posts

Huh, can't find a topic for this.

Well, it isn't exactly a restaurant. it's a beer garden with some food. Good beer that regularly rotates.

So, last night we wanted out. Early Nats game, nice weather, let's walk down to the beer garden for some baseball, beer, and bar food. So, a few innings of baseball, some nice beer, and a "Beer Garden Platter," which is 2 brats with kraut, mustard, and onions (he gets my kraut. Bleah cabbage.), and a giant pretzel with mustard and cheese sauce for dipping.

Nice evening.

Hung out here again on Friday night. Beer. Brats. Pretzels. Close to home, so walkable. Our usual 4, and the beer was tasty. The food was beer garden food, and we enjoyed it.

They let you bring in outside food, but since that kitchen fire at Mr. Rotisserie, there aren't a ton of places along there we want to get food from. (Ah, how I miss the days of bring your own food at Aroma in Cleveland Park - Vace pizza for some, Spices sushi for others! With amazing cocktails. And you could get Chinese food delivered there. And if you picked up Rocklands and shared with Krishna, he was so happy.)

A trip to Midlands on Saturday to watch the Nats lose, drink good beer, and eat. Giant pretzel split between the 4 of us. Brats, chili cheese dogs. It was nice. I like a nice simple beer garden sometimes!

Went here again on Saturday - the boy has just been cleared to go out again after recovering from Covid, so we wanted a place that is well ventilated. Good beer. Good chats with our old friend from Meridian Pint who is now managing Midlands.

And takeout from Tabla. So nice to have that option a block away! (Also, Mr. Rotisserie has re-opened across the street, so that's an option again.)

Sadly, the Nats lost. OK, no surprise, but sad. At least the beer was good, the big roll-up doors were open, the company was good, and the takeout was excellent.
